Description of Bella’s Conflict " The Twilight Saga Novel"

There are many conflicts happen and the conflict exists in whole of Bella’s live. This conflict divide into three types, they are physical conflict, psychological conflict, and social conflict. And the three types of conflict has undergone by Bella.

Physical Conflict.

This conflict happens between man and nature or man and environment. It dealt what Edward. H. Jons in his book Outline of Literature said that physical conflict or elemental conflict is a man in conflict with nature. In such as a story we may go through the struggles of man climbing a mountain or man jumping from cliff. The physical conflict has undergone Bella, such as she jumps from a cliff. She does the activity just for have fun. In reality, she sinks under the water and fights to get out the water. It can be finds in the following quotation:
“And I flung myself off the cliff.
That was when the current caught me, I’d been so preoccupied by the size of the cliff, by the obvious danger of their high, sheer faces, that I hadn’t worried at all about the dark water waiting. I never dreamed that the true menace was lurking for below me, under two heaving surf.
It felt like the waves were fighting over me, jerking me back and forth between them as if determined to share by pulling me into halves. I know the right way to avoid a riptide. Swim parallel to the beach rather than struggling for the store. But the knowledge did me little good when I didn’t know which way the share was.

I couldn’t even tell which way the surface was. The angry water was black in every direction, there was no brightness to direct me upward. Gravity was all powerful when it completed with the air, but it had nothing on the waves—I couldn’t feel a down ward pull, a sinking in any direction. Just the battering of the current that flung me around and around like a doll.
The power of the current makes her hopeless and can’t do anything anymore. Consequently, she loses down the water and her shoulders collides a stone under the water and everything is uncontrolled anymore. It can be finds in the following statement:
The current won at that moment, shoving me abruptly against something hard, a rock invisible in the gloom. It hit me solidly across the chest, slamming into me like an iron bar, and the breath whooshed out my lungs, escaping in a thick cloud of silver bubbles. Water flooded down my throat, choking and burning, the iron bar seemed to be dragging me, pulling me away from Edward, deeper into the dark, to the ocean floor.
Psychological Conflict

This conflict usually arises on the man itself or something contradictory between mind and felling. According to Edward H. Jons in his book Outline of Literature said that psychological conflict is a man struggling against himself, his conscience, his guilt, or simply trying decides what he is going to do. This conflict has happened on Bella. The conflict happens when she is leaved by Edward. Consequently, she has become depression for four months. Then, she always does a reckless activity just for satisfy herself. In the other hand, Bella drives a motorcycle with Jacob black in Lapush. When she drives the motorcycle she shocks because a voice arises on her head. The voice always comes every Bella does something dangerous for herself. It can be finds in the following statement:
As I began to loosen my grip, I was shocked to be interrupted by a voice that didn’t belong to the boy standing next to me.
“This is reckless and childish and idiotic, Bella,” the velvet voice found. Oh!” I gasped and my hand fell of the clutch the bike bucked under me, yanking me forward and then collapsing to the ground half on top of me, the growling engine choked to a stop.
Social Conflict

This conflict usually happens between man and man, man and social or man with environment. Edward said in his book Outline of Literature that social conflict is the struggle is one of person against another. It also supported by Robert peen Warren in his book Understanding to Fiction, states that: There is conflict between man and man, man and society, one idea and others, there is conflict in the external world and conflict in man’s own mind. This conflict has happen between Bella and Lapush gang. At that had undergone the conflict time, they have forbidden Bella meet Jacob black and be a friend. Unfortunately, she accuses Sam Uley who gives an ultimatum Jacob avoid her. It also supported the quotation below:
“Then what did happen? He asked when were inside, he pulled the afgan off the back the sofa as he spoke and wrapped it around my shoulder.” I realized I was shivering still, my voice was lifeless, “Sam Uley says Jacob can’t be my friend anymore.
The quotation above shows that Bella has undergone the social conflict. Unfortunately, Bella doesn’t want lost Jacob as her friend. She wants keep stay together with Jacob black. Bella realizes that the Lapush gang disagreed about their friendship, Bella hates the senior one on the Lapush gang who claimed her as member of Cullen. It can be find the following statement:
“I realized we weren’t alone. Behind him stood four others at tall and russet-skinned, black hair chopped short just like Jacob. They could have been brother –I couldn’t even pick Embry out of the group.
Every pair but one. The oldest by several years. Sam stood in the very back, his face serene and sure. I had to swallow back the bile that rose in my throat, I wanted to take a swing at him. No, I wanted to do more than that. More than anything, I wanted to be fierce and deadly someone no one would dare mess with. Someone who would scare Sam Uley silly.
From the analyzing above shows that Bella has undergone a physical conflict, psychological, and social conflict that happened on her live.
